This picture of my fabulous garage sale find....

had the most likes on the White Ironstone China Association Facebook page in June that it is now the July cover photo for the groups page! I'm super excited to have it featured!!!!

Speaking of finds, here are a few other great treasures that I found recently:

This Everlast bamboo pattern ice bucket was from the Pecatonica Flea Market.  I wasn't looking for more hammered aluminum but couldn't pass this up.

Here's a really cool garage sale plant stand....

I hit the garage sale jackpot one day for vintage toy trucks...

I kept the blue one...

It blends in well with my other collectibles.

At the Belvidere Flea Market I walked away from this dress form a few times before finally buying it.  I'm so glad I did! It's larger than any other that I have, it was made in New York and it's fabulous!

I have it in my dining room now.

Keeping on the garage sale kick, I found this piece of ironstone recently for my collection...

I just had to share this cookbook page I recently bought at a garage sale.  It's hysterical!

Old cookbooks have the craziest ideas. That's what makes them so fun to go through.  Don't pass them up.

Two friends and I finally had a garage sale.  It was great to clean out.  One table didn't sell and it was a good thing after all. It looks really great in my garden with a lavender plant on it.

I love the color chipped on it.

I was waiting for the perfect time to take a photo of my statue with the hostas in bloom. But, with all  the rain we were having, I didn't have a chance to spray deer repellent on them.  The deer devoured them so this is the best picture I can hope for this summer....

Debbie from the Peacock Shoppe in Ridgefield made me this fairy garden in a piece of milk glass. It was so thoughtful of her.

So now with summer finally in full swing, we at the Carriage House are having an architectural salvage sale starting on July 5 for the whole month.

Here are some more sales this month:  3 French Hens in Morris on July 13, Cedarburg Flea Market in Cedarburg WI July 14, Union Historical Museum in Union on July 14, Crystal Lake Sidewalk Sales in the downtown shops July 18-20. Mukwonago Flea Market in Mukwonago WI July 20-21.

The McHenry County University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners are having their annual Gardenwalk on July 13.

The McHenry County 4-H Fair starts on July 30-Aug 4.

There's so much to do in July! There are local festivals, not to mention garage sales/estate sales and a visit to Lake Geneva. Don't forget to eat ice cream along the way.

Catching Up!

It always seems that I'm catching up on my Blog. There just isn't enough time in the day.

I promised pictures of my sun room so here they are....

I bought two vintage stands recently so I changed the look.  I had that fabulous white chippy basket and couldn't find a place for it until now. I knew I would find a place sooner or later.  I love it!

I paired down my vintage planter collection to only the green family or white.

I bought that fabulous white cart from Chippy Shabby at the Washington Street Market. It is super cute!

I love how it all ties together.

How cute is this planter? I received it from a friend for Easter. I also got this beautiful spring bouquet from a family friend. After all that snow, I needed for it to feel like spring even though it is slowly arriving.

I recently visited Holland Michigan for the tulip festival. Along the way I just had to stop at some interesting places. This door was fabulous!

Here I am at a park that was filled with decorated wooden shoes.

The tulips were lovely....

but the windmill tour was really great.

It was a busy week when I got back. We had our Spring Open House at the Carriage House and I had to redo my space. I brought in some really cool treasures....

On the one day that I wasn't working at the Open House, I found this fabulous dress form! Isn't she lovely? I had to have her. She's now standing in my dining room next to my milk glass china cabinet.

My baby brother turned 50 on Mother's Day! I could hardly believe it. I don't like to think of myself as getting older but this had me thinking for sure.

There are a few events coming up this weekend...

Saturday and Sunday is the Pec Thing flea market in Pecatonica. Saturday is Main Street Market at its new location in Belvidere at the Fairgrounds. Sunday is the Elkhorn Flea market at the fairgrounds in Elkhorn WI.  May 26th is the Cedarburg Flea market in Cedarburg WI.

Spring Notes

I think it's spring even though we just had 8" of snow on Sunday! It was a crazy weather day but boy was the scenery beautiful.  There is always a silver lining!

Just last week I filled up from a fabulous estate sale.  Here's my car fully packed....

I especially love the statue so I'm keeping it!

It's in my garden now. Speaking of my garden, at Gardenfest a few weeks ago we had a keynote speaker talk about his moss garden in Waukesha WI. Here is how the moss is spreading in my garden. I have always loved the look of moss in my yard/garden.

I changed around my garden areas slightly. I have a frog/turtle area garden, a gnome area garden and a cherub area.

The gnomes were moved to create more room for my new statue.  This picture is super cute!

At that fabulous estate sale, I bought a box of lamp parts.  Two of the parts were perfect for candle holders. I put two votive holders into them to hold the candles and now they sit on my dining room table.  They fit right in with my decor.

I did a market on Friday night at Smith's Central Garage in McHenry. It was a Vintage Market Event at Night.  Here's my car packed before....

I loved how the mix of boho, farmhouse and industrial fit all together...

I bought four flower frogs at the market to add to my collection. This is only a partial view of my collection...

Now that I have some free time, I'm cleaning and rearranging. More pictures later on how I redid my
sunroom with my newest purchases. I spent time yesterday rearranging my space at the Carriage House. There's a new look to it that I love!

Welcome April!

Even though the weather is still pretty cold, I have been out at a few sales whenever and wherever I can find them.  They are there!

This fabulous white chippy table was actually found at the Carriage House. I had to have it.

It looks great with the white enamel pitcher on it. Here's a closer view of that perfect chippiness...

Here are a few of my favorite pictures that I took at my space at the Carriage House to welcome spring.

Baby bottles in their carrier make a great arrangement for flowers.

Just changing around the trays in the background give the picture more of a spring feel. The same can be done in your home.

I'm super excited about my finds yesterday. These giant sized flower frogs are fabulous! I have added them to my collection. I especially love the one on the bottom left. So unique!

Remember, on April 12th, a Friday night, from 4-9pm at Smith's Central Garage in McHenry is a Vintage Event Market at Night. I'm putting together some wonderful treasures to bring with a spring theme. Hint: some gardening items thrown in.

The next day is the Washington Street Market in Naperville.  Why not make a weekend out of it?
